    Miss Maryland Agriculture, Thursday, August 22, 7:00 p.m., in the Cow Palace Show Ring. 

    Young women representing 23 Maryland's counties will compete for the Miss Maryland Agriculture title, scholarships and priviledge of promoting the Maryland's agricultural industry.

    Fairgoers have the opportunity to witness the miracle of birth of calves & piglets under the supervision of veterinarians and students.

    The DNR will provide a variety of interactive Exhibits, Monday – Friday, 12 Noon – 8 PM, and Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day Monday, 10 AM – 8 PM, in the Mosner Miller Building.

    Discover the beauty and wonder of Maryland’s great outdoors through an interactive exhibit hosted by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). This exhibit includes exciting, interactive activities, animals and information on everything from fishing, hiking, camping and State Park adventures to boating and hunting safety.

  • Negro League Baseball Exhibit

    The Negro League Baseball exhibit incorporates historical videos, life-size photos of players, autographed baseballs, bats and other memorabilia from the Hubert V. Simmons Negro Leagues Museum Collection.

  • U-Learn Farm

    Located in the South End of the Cow Palace.

    U-Learn Farm will be open:
    Saturday - Sunday from 10AM to 9PM
    and
    Monday - Friday (including Labor Day Monday) from 10AM to 8PM

    U-Learn Farm Count on U-Learn AG Education Zone to teach fairgoers of all ages, how agriculture impacts their daily lives. In addition to featuring a variety of fun and educational hands-on activities and exhibits like the U-LEARN READ Reading Nook in partnership with the Baltimore County Public Library System, U-Learn AG Education Zone will bring back the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association bigger than life-sized interactive milk carton; John Deere Farm Equipment; Hoop Greenhouse exhibit; Kids Growing with Grains, and the MD Ag Education Foundation Showcase Trailer. And, in partnership with University of Maryland Extension, University of Maryland College Park, the U-LEARN AG Education Zone will feature an animal agriculture focus, Farm to Table themed educational exhibits and interactive activities. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 10 AM – 9 PM, Mondays – Thursday, 10 AM – 8 PM in the Cow Palace south end.

  • Live Thoroughbred Horseracing
    August 23 - September 2, 11:00AM-6:00PM

    Free with paid admission to the Maryland State Fair. Located in the Grandstands.

    The Maryland State Fair is home to a 5/8th mile oval track, which overlooks scenic York Road.  Live simulcast racing begins, Friday, August 23rd through Sunday, August 25th and Friday, August 30th through Labor Day Monday, September 2nd, 2019.  Post time is 1PM.

    Grandstand Grille (located in the Racetrack Grandstands) will be open serving Lunch and Dinner.

  • U.S. Pony Races
    August 24 - August 25, 10:00AM-6:00PM

    Located in the Grandstands.

    U.S. PONY RACES–non-wagering flat pony races with young jockeys ages 3-16, Saturday, August 24, 10 AM and live non-wagering steeplechase pony races, Sunday, August 25 approximately 5 PM immediately following thoroughbred horse races at the Racetrack. Riders must have own ponies and be preapproved by U.S. Pony Racing. http://www.usponyracing.com   

  • Bull Riding & Barrel Racing
    August 26, 7:00PM-8:30PM

    Free with paid admission to the Maryland State Fair. Located in the Horse Show Ring.

    The cowboys will face the bulls, when professional bullriding returns for one night only! Just 25 professional International Bull Riders compete to ride some of the toughest bulls in the world of rodeo.  There will be Cowgirls Barrel Racing and more! See you there!

  • MD 4-H Fashion Revue
    August 30, 6:00PM-7:00PM

    Free with paid admission.
    Located in the 4-H/Home Arts Building.

    The Maryland 4-H Fashion Revue will provide an opportunity to be inspired and in awe of the creativity and skill of Maryland 4-H youth as they refine their skills in design, construction and recycling garments with the hope of competing at the Maryland State Fair.  This year, young men and women from across the state will model outfits they have created, constructed or purchased using their consumer skills and fashion know how.

  • Annual Arm Wrestling Competition
    August 31, 12:30PM-4:00PM

    Free with paid admission to the Maryland State Fair. Located in the State Fair Park. 

    The colorful and competitive sport of arm wrestling returns to the Maryland State Fair. This premier amateur event will feature people from all walks of life - both men and women competing for local bragging rights. Events feature standardized weight classes, streamlined equipment and National Rankings for all competitors who win a match. Saturday, August 31, 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM, near the MD State Fair Park.
